3/7/2026 9:27:00 PM | Women's Basketball
Bulldogs were propelled by three finishing in double-digits with Emilia Long on 15 points, Danae Powelll with 12 and Ava Marr on 11 points. Fresno State put forth 11 made three-point field goals (36%) alongside 41% from the field (25-60).Â
How it happenedÂ
The Bulldogs came out firing from beyond the arc, knocking down five 3-pointers, for a 13-0 opening run to build an early cushion. Fresno State would be up 15-0 before Nevada claimed their first field goal. Emilia Long and Ava Marr each connected from deep during that game-opening surge that put Fresno State in control, while the defense forced seven Nevada turnovers in the frame.  'Dogs closed the quarter with another triple from Danae Powell to take a 21-10 lead after one
Fresno State continued to apply pressure in the second, shooting 6-of-13 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Djessira Diawara sparked the Bulldogs on both ends, while Long added a late 3-pointer. Bulldogs' carried a 19-point lead into halftime, 40-22.
Nevada mounted its strongest push in the third, hitting a 13-0 run over a two minute span to sit within seven of the 'Dogs. Fresno State answered with timely shooting, hitting four more 3-pointers in the quarter. Nevada hit a 15-3 run before Fresno State flipped the switch. Morelia Chavez knocked down key shots from deep, halting the Wolf Pack's momentum. Chavez hit another three for a ten-point separation, 48-38. Two more three-pointers followed Chavez's' from Powell and Marr. Fresno State held double-digit separation going into the final ten, 58-47.Â
The Bulldogs controlled the final 10 minutes, limiting Nevada to just two field goals in the quarter. Fresno State capitalized at the free-throw line and on second-chance opportunities to steadily extend the margin. A Powell 3-pointer midway through the period and strong work on the glass helped seal the win as the 'Dogs closed out the 74-57 victory.Â
