FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State dropped a 4-1 decision to UNLV on Monday morning at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Complex.
How it Happened
UNLV secured the early advantage by claiming the doubles point, winning on courts one and three. The Bulldog duo of Giulia Lodovici and Louna Cormier held a 5-2 lead on court two before the match went unfinished.
The Rebels carried momentum into singles play, picking up three completed victories to clinch the match.
Fresno State's lone point came from Eliza Dunbar on court four, as she earned a straight-set victory (6-1, 6-4) over Eszter Kis-Czako.
UNLV picked up wins on courts one, two and six. Hudson Hawkins defeated Giulia Lodovici (6-3, 6-2) on court one, while Nikol Mircheva topped Sofia Pizzoni (6-3, 7-5) on court two. Sofiia Sokolvak sealed the match with a straight-set win over Louna Cormier (7-6, 6-3) on court six.
Two matches went unfinished, including a tightly contested battle on court five between Klara Vukicevic and Kaho Oyama that was split through two sets.
