Bolton added to staff as assistant coach

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State soccer head coach Gabe Bolton announced the addition of assistant coach Hannah Bolton to his staff for the 2026 season.

Bolton joins the Bulldogs coaching staff after most recently serving as an assistant coach for the Grand Canyon women's soccer program in 2025.

Bolton's coaching career is deeply rooted within the state of Arizona, where she began coaching U-11 to U-16 youth teams from 2014-2016 before being named the Grand Canyon Club Sport's women's head soccer coach in 2018 following two seasons as a player-coach.

Bolton coached the Phoenix Rising FC youth soccer team from 2019-2024 while also being an assistant coach for Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona in 2020, helping guide the Huskies to the Class 6A state championship game.

From 2022-2023, Bolton served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Grand Canyon women's soccer program. The Lopes finished the regular season with an 11-7-2 record and an appearance in the WAC Tournament semifinals in her first season. In 2023, she helped lead Grand Canyon to a 14-5-4 regular season finish as the Lopes took home the WAC title and secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Division 1 tournament.Â

Following a one-year stint as an assistant coach at Cal State LA in 2024 where she helped lead the Golden Eagles to a 9-4-5 record, Bolton returned to the GCU women's soccer program as an assistant coach for the 2025 season.Â

As a player, Bolton played club soccer for the Eugene Timbers FC before attending Portland State as a freshman where she ran track and cross country from 2013-2014. Bolton returned to Eugene, Oregon in 2014 and attended Lane Community College where she played soccer for the Titans for two seasons. After being named captained in 2015, she helped lead the team to a Northwest Athletic Conference Southern Region Championship.Â

Bolton transferred to Grand Canyon in 2016, spending two seasons as a player-coach in GCU Club sports. She was also a member of FC Arizona's Women's Professional Soccer League team during their inaugural season, and was the team's first All-WPSL West Region honoree in 2019.
