Benson with Team USA at World Cup Final

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State water polo head coach Natalie Benson is in Sydney, Australia for the 2026 World Aquatics World Cup Final, serving as an assistant coach with Team USA's Women's Senior National Team.

The World Cup Final runs from July 21-26 at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Center. The tournament features the top eight women's national teams. Team USA did not qualify for the World Cup Final last year after winning the World Cup four straight times, but the team took top honors at the Division 1 qualifier earlier this year in Rotterdam to earn a spot in Sydney.

Team USA defeated China in the quarterfinal round yesterday, 14-8. With the win, Team USA advances to the semifinal round on Friday. The Gold Medal match is scheduled for Sunday.
