Nate Leal is in his sixth season as the Director of Men’s Basketball Operations and 12th season overall working for the Fresno State men’s basketball team.
Leal started as student manager, before working up to be a graduate assistant on the Bulldogs’ staff when Fresno State won the 2016 Mountain West tournament championship and went to the NCAA Tournament.
After spending the 2017-18 season as a high school coach, Leal was hired as a special assistant for Justin Hutson, with significant operations responsibilities, which have included a leading role in daily program operations, community service, team travel, practice coordination and other administrative logistics for the program. He was promoted to Director of Operations prior to the 2019-20 season.
Leal earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in coaching from Fresno State in 2015, and then received a master’s degree in sport psychology, also from Fresno State, in 2017.
