Emily Gibson enters her second season as the volunteer assistant coach for Fresno State.
Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Gibson was the head coach for the NEMS '13 club lacrosse team, based out of Harford County, Md., for six years. She also was the volunteer assistant for the NCAA Division III Notre Dame University of Maryland women's lacrosse team for the 2013 season.
Starting every game as a freshman midfielder for the Loyola Greyhounds, Gibson was sixth on the team in points, and was second in draw controls. During her 2008 sophomore season, played in all 16 games and was fourth on team in draw controls.
Junior year, Gibson played under current head coach Jen Adams, current assistant coach Dana Dobbie and former assistant coach (current SDSU head coach) Kylee White. She ended the season with Big East Honorable Mention All-Conference honors, fourth on the team in points, second in groundballs, and third in draw controls.Â
In 2010, Gibson saved her best season for last while finishing second on the team in points, first in groundballs, second in draw controls, and first in caused turnovers. She also received Big East Second Team All-Conference honors and First-Team All-Mid Atlantic Region selection by the IWLCA.
Gibson currently works for Adventist Health in Hanford, Calif., and is going back to school to study physical therapy.
A native of Jarrettsville, Md., Gibson attended North Harford High School with Fresno State assistant coach Nicole Price, where they played basketball and lacrosse together for three years. She then earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2010 from Loyola University Maryland.
