2016 (SENIOR): A team captain for a second straight year as a senior, Coates earned All-Mountain West Honorable Mention honors after leading the 'Dogs in kills with 383 recording the most kills in a single-season since 2013... appeared in all 108 sets and started all 29 matches... tallied a .185 hitting percentage and had more than twice the number of total attempts as the next closest 'Dogs finishing with 1,059...finished second on the club with 38 service aces and 0.35 aces per set; marks which both ranked fourth in the MW... also ranked fourth in the MW in points per set (4.25) and fifth in points (458.5)... led the Bulldogs with 22 solo blocks and added 31 block assists for 53 total blocks to rank third on the team... totaled 191 digs (1.77 dig/s) for the third most on the team... recorded a career-high 24 kills and 64 attempts in the 'Dogs five-set win over Air Force (Oct. 13)... posted five double-doubles on the season, including one in the season's first three matches and also against San Diego State (13 kills, 14 digs) and Utah State (23 kills, 12 digs).... totaled 22 matches with double-figure kill total and led the 'Dogs in kills in 23 matches... finished her career with 701 kills, 429 digs, 66 service aces. 28 solo blocks, 71 block assists in 61 matches and 226 sets played.
2015 (JUNIOR): Was voted team captain as the Bulldogs lone non-freshmen newcomer ... after transferring from New Mexico State, she boosted the offense with a top three team match-high in hitting percentage (.444), kills (20), total attempts (55), points scored (22.5) and aces (3) during her first season for the `Dogs ... the 26-match starter logged 18 double-digit kill totals in 118 sets played as a junior, and had seven matches with multiple aces including a season-high three on two occasions ... in late September, she logged her personal season-high in kills (20) and attempts (55) against Portland, while accounting for a season-best hitting percentage (.450) and block total (7) versus New Mexico ... additionally had a Bulldog career-high of 15 digs while facing Georgia State during opening weekend ... among team stats, she had a second-best 919 attacks, six solo blocks and tied with 28 aces overall, while positioned second in Mountain West play with 13 aces and four solo blocks ... logged the second most double-doubles on the team with eight during the 2015 campaign - Georgia State (11 kills, 15 digs), Cal State Fullerton (13 kills, 12 digs), Sacramento State (14 kills, 13 digs), Portland (20 kills, 14 digs), Southern Utah (11 kills, 10 digs), San Jose State (13 kills, 11 digs), San Jose State (14 kills, 12 digs), Boise State (13 kills, 15 digs) ... was tabbed to the Bulldog Showdown All-Tournament Team after helping the `Dogs to a weekend record of 3-1 with victories over UC Riverside (3-0), Cal State Fullerton (3-1) and Central Michigan (3-0).
Prior to Fresno State: A junior transfer from New Mexico State, Coates played in 125 sets during two seasons with the Aggies ... in 2013, the 5'11 Victorville, Calif., native was tied for third on the team in service aces (18) while posting the second highest service ace per set percentage ... the outside hitter also had 95 kills and 96 digs during her freshman campaign, posting a career-high nine kills at Cal ... in two seasons at New Mexico State, Coates totaled 123 kills and 110 digs.
HIGH SCHOOL: Coates was a four-year letter winner at Silverado High School in Victorville, Calif., playing under head coach Tyrone Brown ... she helped the Hawks win the Desert Sky League in 2009 and 2011, while the team was the runner-up in 2010 and 2012 ... named to the All-CIF Southern Section and was the all-area Volleyball Player of the Year in 2011 ... as a senior in 2012, she was awarded a spot on the Desert Sky all-league team and played in the Desert Sky all-star game ... Coates averaged 412 kills, 50 blocks and 98 digs per season.
PERSONAL: Coates was born in Los Angeles, Calif. on July 29, 1995. She is the daughter of Allandus and Sarah Coates ... admires Olympic volleyball player Destiny Hooker as an inspiration after training with her in the past ... plans to major in physical therapy.
