The Fresno State Bulldogs were voted fifth in the WAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Hawai'i edged out SMU by earning five first-place votes to the Mustangs' three to claim the top spot in the poll, while Rice finished third.
Head Coach Britt King is expecting to see improvement on the court this winter with the return of six letter winners and the addition of five talented freshman.
The Bulldogs season tips off November 19 at the Minnesota Tournament.
