Bulldogs will take on Utah in Las Vegas Bowl

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's opponent in the EA Sports Las Vegas Bowl will be the University of Utah, representatives of the bowl game announced today.
Utah finished the season with an 8-3 (5-2 MWC) record and tied for the Mountain West Conference championship with Colorado State and BYU. The Utes won their final two games of the season, including a 20-17 triumph over the then-No. 19 Cougars on Nov. 20 to help secure the three-way tie.
Fresno State accepted an invitation to play in the game in an on-field presentation after it defeated San Jose State 63-12 on Nov. 20.
The Bulldogs and Utes have battled eight times in history with each team winning four times. They last played Oct. 17, 1998, in a game won by the Utes in Utah 24-16.
