No. 1 Softball Captures Silver Championship Bracket Title

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Top-ranked Fresno State concluded NFCA Leadoff Classic Tournament play with a Silver Championship Bracket title with a 4-0 win over #18 Arizona State.
Fresno State (12-1), which notched a 5-1 tourney record, picked up a win over Missouri (7-2) earlier Sunday before meeting ASU in the night cap.
Against Missouri, senior third baseman Jaime Maxey belted her first home run on the season with a three-run shot to left field in the bottom of the first with two outs. The Bulldogs added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Fr. LHP Kristen Hunter scattered seven hits and struck out two to pick up her sixth win to one loss on the year.
Against 18th-ranked Arizona State, Fresno State again jumped out to an early lead when it scored two runs in the top of the third.
