Fresno, Calif. - Just under a year ago, Fresno State softball clinched the Women's College World Series, defeating Arizona 1-0 in the title game. That day, May 25, 1998, marked the University's first-ever team national championship.
"Fulfilling the Dream," will premiere Tuesday, May 18 at Fresno State's Satellite Student Union in Whitfield Hall at 7:37 p.m. "Fulfilling the Dream" chronicles the Bulldogs 1998 season from the opening pitch through the final out - including Nina Lindenberg's home run shot over the left field bleachers. This championship video re-creates all of the drama of the 1998 season.
Special invitations were mailed to softball season ticket holders Monday, admitting two persons per invitation. Public seating for the premiere is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Doors for invited guests open at 6:45 p.m. and then open to the public at 7:15 p.m.
The 57-minute VHS video, available for $19.95 (sales tax not included), is hosted by Fresno State alum and KJEO-TV sports director George Takata. Highlights from both local and national broadcasts, as well as never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews with the players and the coaches make this video one every Bulldog fan should see.
Mail orders are available for a total cost of $25 per video, including sales tax, shipping and handling. Contact (5509) 244-2800 for video ordering information.
