FRESNO, Calif.-Fresno State softball's excellence on the field also has equaled success in the classroom this past 1997-98 academic school year.
With 10 Bulldogs making the Deans List for the Fall '97 semester, including one earning a perfect 4.00 in the classroom, four Bulldogs also made the Deans List for the Spring '98 semester.
Three Bulldogs who made the Deans List both semesters were sophomore and two-time All-American Amanda Scott (Clovis), junior catcher Jennifer Slaney (Los Alamitos), and freshman All-American Becky Witt (Reseda), while senior catcher Amber Wall (Turlock) earned academic accolades this spring semester.
Scott, who is currently traveling across the nation with the USA National Team in preparation for the 1998 ISF World Championship, also earned GTE Academic All-District VIII honors this past spring. In addition, junior third baseman Jaime Maxey (Fresno) also was a GTE Academic All-District VIII pick.
