Fresno, Calif. - Witt Named WAC Player of the Week After leading the Bulldogs to doubleheader sweeps over UCSB and Cal Poly, Witt garnered her first career Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday. Witt, the Bulldogs' leadoff hitter and centerfielder, hit .563 (9-16) in four games with five runs, a double, two home runs and nine RBI. In the season opener against UCSB, Witt batted .500 (4-8) and scored three runs with two RBI and a sacrifice hit. Against Cal Poly, Witt sparked the Bulldogs to a 3-0 win over the Mustangs with her first collegiate home run -- a three-run shot down the left field line in the top of the ninth inning. In the nightcap, Witt smacked her second three-run home run into center field. Against Cal Poly, Witt hit .625 (5-8) with two runs, a double, two long balls and seven RBI.
