Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Bulldogs inked their second loss of the season and first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation loss with a 2-0 defeat by the Air Force Academy.
Fresno State took the field this afternoon, Friday, Oct. 6, in what seemed to be a December match. With snow falling and temperatures nearly reaching freezing, the men tried to overcome the offensive attack of the Air Force Academy. The AFA struck early on a goal by junior midfielder Brandon Jones at the 10-minute mark. The skillful striker placed the ball neatly in the top left corner from about 15 yards out on the right side. The Falcons' final and second goal came after junior forward Britton Miller tapped in a rebounded ball in the 42nd minute. The `Dogs only managed six shots, three of them on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Jeremy Proud (Auburn, Wash.) finished with two saves, while sophomore midfielder Kupono Low (Fremont, Calif.) finished with two shots and one shot on goal.
The Bulldogs head to the University of Denver Pioneers with a 7-2-1 overall record and 0-1-0 MPSF record. They will face off on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m.
