Schey, Chiaramonte Named Academic All-District

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State sophomore offensive tackle Joe Schey and senior linebacker Giachino Chiaramonte have been named second-team Verizon Academic All-District VIII, it was announced today.
The team is voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America from within the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and the province of British Columbia.
Schey is a sociology major who sports a 3.30 grade point average. He has been a stalwart on the offensive line the entire season, helping the Bulldogs rack up a 25.8 points per game average.
Chiaramonte is one-third of what many consider the best linebacking corps in the Western Athletic Conference. He is sixth on the squad with 48 tackles, including a nine-tackle performance Saturday at No. 17 TCU. He is a speech communication major with a 3.34 GPA.
