Tulane Defeats Fresno State Women's Tennis 5-4

In singles play Fresno State won two matches. Kandiss Creighton (Sr., Weldon, Calif.) defeated Maiko Cook on court No. 2 6-4, 7-5. Anke Beier (Fr., Velbert, Germany) defeated Molly Rollauer on court No. 6 6-3, 7-5 in her first match as a Bulldog.
The schools went into the doubles matches with Tulane leading 4-2. The Bulldogs needed to sweep all three doubles matches to walk away with a win. The match was ultimately decided on court No. 2 where Tulane's Maiko Cook and Olga Mikhailova defeated Renee Kops-Jones (Sr., Fresno, Calif.) and Kim Niggemeyer (So., Berlin, Germay) 8-3.
Fresno State resumes play this weekend when they face No. 32 Iowa on Saturday at 11 a.m. and No. 20 South Alabama on Sunday at 10 a.m.. Both matches take place in Mobile, Ala..
