Bulldog Diamond Expands
You'll be noticing a new set of risers added to Bulldog Diamond this year. The Fresno State athletic department purchased riser seats to be installed behind the first base box seats. At a request by fans over the last several years and as a NCAA requirement to host any postseason championship beginning in 2000, the risers will be $10 (same price as third base risers) and will be available for general admission. Bulldog Diamond, home to four NCAA all-time attendance marks - including most in a single date (5,427) - has set the NCAA single-season attendance twice in the last three years with the most recent record being 55,746 in 26 home dates in 1999. With the addition of 300 seats, the capacity at Bulldog Diamond is now 5,767.
New Record in Ticket Sales
For the fifth straight year Fresno State has set a new all-time high in softball season ticket sales. Fresno State eclipsed its 1999 record of 1,187 with a new mark of 1,445 on February 7. In 1996, Fresno State set a then all-time high of 962 season tickets before braking that mark the following year with 1,010. In 1998, the Bulldogs had sold 1,121 season tickets. In addition, this is the fourth straight year Fresno State has surpassed the 1,000 mark in ticket sales in school history while seat options are at a current high of 1,358.
