Bulldog All-Americans

Since the start of her tenure, head coach Margie Wright has produced 47 NCAA All-Americans. In 1990, 1994 and 1999 the Bulldogs placed five on All-America teams. In 1982, pitcher Wende Ward was Fresno State's first softball player to snag All-America honors in the first year under NCAA participation. In 1984, second baseman Rene Polanco was the Bulldogs first infielder to snag All-America honors. In 1987, first baseman Gena Strang became the first Bulldog to capture First Team All-America accolades as well as being the program's first three-time All-American. In 1991, second baseman Julie Smith was Fresno State's first back-to-back First Team All-American. In 2000, pitcher/outfielder/first baseman Amanda Scott became the program's first and only four-time First Team All-American. She, along with outfielders Laura Berg and Robyn Yorke, are the program's only four-time NCAA All-Americans in the 26-year history of Fresno State softball.

Academic All-Americans
Head coach Margie Wright has produced 13 of the 15 Verizon Academic All-Americans for the Fresno State softball program. In 1985, pitcher Barbara Cambria and second baseman Rita Walker were the program's first Academic All-Americans. In 1990, pitcher Carie Dever was the school's first two-time Academic All-American -- male or female. In 1991, pitcher Terry Carpenter was the university's first-ever student-athlete to capture First Team Verizon Academic All-America accolades. In 1997, outfielder Robyn Yorke became the first three-time Academic All-American ever in Fresno State athletic history. And, in 2002, Lindsay Fossatti became the softball program's fifth First Team Verizon Academic All-American and the 13th Bulldog to garner first team selection overall at Fresno State.
