#7 Fresno State Gets Shutdown

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State suffered its fifth shutout loss on the year as it dropped a 2-0 decision in game one in a non-conference doubleheader at home against #2 Arizona. Notching their 18th shutout on the season, the Wildcats extended their win streak to 27 straight games despite senior RHP Amanda Scott (13-3) striking out 14 - tying her career high she set against #14 Michigan on March 4. The Bulldogs managed two hits, walked one and struck out eight times against UA pitcher Becky Lemke (16-1). Arizona scored two runs on five hits and was walked twice while fanning 14 times. For Fresno State, sophomore RF Vanessa Czarnecki and sophomore DP Kristen Hunter each had a hit as both went 1-3.
