#8 Bulldog Softball Advances to NFCA Leadoff Championship Game

Fresno State tallied a run in the top of the fifth and went on to defeat #5 Oklahoma in the semifinals to earn a berth into the championship game of the 2000 NFCA Leadoff Classic. Senior RHP Amanda Scott tossed her third one-hitter on the year, struck out eight and tallied her eighth shutout on the season to improve to 9-2 overall.
Fresno State scored its only run in the top of the fifth and finished the game with five hits while committing one error while Oklahoma posted three fielding errors. In the fifth, freshman catcher Pam West led off with a single down the right field line. Freshman Wynette McMillan came in to pinch run for West before sophomore right fielder
