Several Bulldogs Receive Awards at Team Banquet

FRESNO, Calif. - Tiffany Lewis (Sr., Inglewood, Calif.) won the Coaches' Award and was presented with three awards from the Western Athletic Conference at the Fresno State women's basketball team banquet, held at the Picadilly Inn University.
Lewis, who's 264 rebounds last year was third on the FS all-time single season list, was honored by head coach Britt King for being named second-team All-WAC in addition to the WAC All-Defensive team. Her leadership on a team with five freshmen was also recognized in her receiving the Coaches' Award.
Lindsay Logan (Fr., Sandy, Utah) was given the team's Newcomer Award after setting a Fresno State single-season record for assists by dishing out 192. She also became the first freshman in the history of the WAC to lead the conference in assists.
Also winning awards were Laura Garcia (Fr., Fresno, Calif.), who took home the Hustle Award and the Herb Young Memorial Award for persistence in the face of adversity, Tiffany Simon (Fr., Detroit, Mich.), who won the Most Improved Award, Channan High (Fr., New Carrollton, Md.), who was honored as the team's Best Defensive Player, and Amanda Baker (Jr., Porterville, Calif.), who won the Bulldog Award for most dedicated and aggressive.
Laura Paukert (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) and Omelogo Udeze (Fr., Los Angeles, Calif.) were presented with academic awards for maintaining at least a 3.20 grade point average.
The Bulldogs finished the season 11-18 (4-10 WAC) but lose only one player from last year's team. King and her staff have also signed a recruiting class which has been tabbed as one of the top 50 in the nation.
