No. 4 Fresno State Softball Drops First WAC Contest

Ending the Bulldogs 35 consecutive Western Athletic Conference winning streak, Loyola Marymount upset No. 4 Fresno State in conference play to give the `Dogs their first league loss in two years. LMU, which improves to 29-21, pulled out a 1-0 victory to even its league record to 7-7. Fresno State, which falls to 9-1 in conference play, is now 44-11 overall. LMU got its run in the top of the third with two outs. Centerfielder Anna Trauernicht singled to right field and stole second base. Second baseman Laura Eckley then singled to left field, advanced to second on the throw home - scoring Trauernicht - and was out at third after trying to stretch the run to third and catch the Bulldogs off guard after the play at home.
