1959 CWS Team To Reunite This Weekend

FRESNO, Calif. - Sixteen members of Fresno State's 1959 College World Series team will be in town this weekend for a reunion. The former Bulldogs will be recognized prior to Friday night's WAC game between San Jose State and Fresno State.

The team was led by the late Pete Beiden and it posted a 41-13 overall record, won the California Collegiate Athletic Association and District 8 championships and finished third at the 1959 College World Series in Omaha, Neb. The finish remains the highest by a men's varsity team in school history.
