FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State head coach Britt King has announced the signing of Annie Fagundes (Atwater, Calif./Atwater High School) to play for the Bulldogs beginning in the 2000-01 season. Fagundes is the sixth recruit inked to play for FS next year.
"When we went out to recruit this season we were looking for girls who were going to work hard and give us their all in every practice and every game, and Annie fits that mold perfectly," King said. "She's part of a recruiting class that we are extremely excited about. We think the players we recruited, Annie included, can come in and make an immediate impact for this season."
A 5-8 guard, Fagundes averaged 12.8 points and 7.3 assists per game last year for Atwater High. She joins a class which has been tabbed as the nation's 50th best by the Women's Basketball Journal. Included in the class are 6-1 forward Devon Crosby-Helms (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt), 6-4 center Mindy Clark (LaHabra, Calif./Sonora), 6-1 forward Chantea Fleming (San Bernardino, Calif./Ayala) and 5-10 guard LaToya Bristow (Oceanside, Calif./Vista).
