Niggemeyer's Run At Clay Court Championships Ends In Quarterfinals

All-American junior Kim Niggemeyer was ousted from the quarterfinals Friday during the second day of play at the T. Rowe Price National Intercollegiate Clay Court Championships in Baltimore, Md.
The No. 4 seed Niggemeyer fell to Tulane's Anna Monhartova 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 in the quarterfinal round. Earlier in the day, Niggemeyer advanced by defeating Anneliese Rose of Florida International 6-4, 7-5 in the second round.
Niggemeyer, the lone Bulldog entrant in the preseason tournament, defeated Delphine Troch of William & Mary 6-4, 6-3 in the first round Thursday.
The next preseason tournament on the Bulldog's schedule is the Riveria Tournament, with the prequalifying round on Saturday, Oct. 14.
