Baseball Completes Third Game of Blue/Gray World Series

FRESNO, Calif. - The Blue squad defeated the Gray team for the third straight time 13-11. The Blue 'Dogs were out to a 12-0 lead before the Gray team scored eight in the bottom of the seventh.
Junior pitcher David Bair pitched six innings of no-hit ball striking five and walking one. He earned his first win of the series. Junior Ben Fritz went 2-3 with 2 RBI and a homerun. Junior Brendan Suga went 2-4 with a run and 2 RBI. Freshman Jordan Prieto went 2-6 with 2 RBI including two doubles. Sophomore Ryan Norcross came in to record his second save of the series. Carl Lipsey went 2-2 with five runs, three walks, two RBI and a HBP.
For the Gray 'Dogs, starting pitcher Matt Scott was roughed up going two innings giving up six runs and suffering the loss. At the plate, freshman Kyle Atrat went 2-4 with 3 RBI including a homerun. Junior Joey Myers also had a homerun going 2-4 with two RBI. Sophomore Casey McGehee went 2-5 with three RBI.
The Blue 'Dogs now have a 3-0 lead going into tonight's game at 6 p.m. Junior Ben Fritz will take the hill for the Blue Team and senior Zach Minor will start for the Gray 'Dogs.
