Equestrian Captures Win at Stanford

Equestrian Went to Stanford October 27-28.
The Team participated in two English only shows. The first was on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. The second show was Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
Equestrian Wins Second Show at Stanford
The Fresno State Equestrian Hunter Seat (English) team competed at Stanford October 27-28, 2001. The Hunter Seat team was the Reserve Champions (2nd Place) at the Saturday show that took place at 2:30 p.m. The Hunter Seat team won at the Sunday show that took place at 8:30 a.m. Seven teams competed at Stanford this weekend. They are Stanford, UC Davis, Bakersfield College, Univ. of Oregon, Santa Cruz and Fresno State.
Bulldogs Take an Early Lead in the IHSA Standings
Fresno State gains the lead early this season with 36 points. They are 15 points ahead of Cal Poly who is in second place. These points accumulate all season long as the team tries to qualify for the IHSA Regional Finals in the spring. There are 10 total teams in Region 1 all trying to qualify for the finals.
Two Riders Qualify for IHSA Regionals
Sophomore Amy Reed qualified for Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) regionals as she has 32 points. She moved from riding Walk/Trot to Beginning Walk/Trot/Canter (WTC) event. She placed first in the Beginning WTC her 1st time ever in that event.
Dana Van Der Geissen also qualified for IHSA Regionals. She moved from Novice Flat where she placed 2nd on Saturday to the Intermediate Flat where she placed 6th on Sunday.
Equestrian Held First Home Event October 13
Saturday, October 13, was the first home event for the Bulldogs. The Intercollegiate Dressage show was at 8:30 a.m. at the Student Horse Center. Each rider singularly competed at a scheduled time. Each rider memorized a pattern that had to be followed. Judges scored the participants in 20 areas including Rider Position and Horse Obedience. Six Bulldogs participated in the show along with 24 community members.
Equestrian Team takes 1st in 3 out of 4 shows at Nevada
The Equestrian team won the English afternoon show on Saturday, October 6 and both Western shows on Sunday, October 7th. The team was named Reserve Team for Saturday's Morning show. English rider Katey Feeley and Western rider Jessica Frazier were named Reserved Champions of the event.
