Equestrian Will Travel to South Carolina
The Equestrian team will ride in an English/Western show at the University of South Carolina Dec. 1. The show will start at 9 a.m.
Riders and Positions for South Carolina Show
* Rachel DeCamp (Hanalei, Hawaii) - Novice Flat
* Amanda Hancock (Victoria, B.C.) - Novice Fences/Int. Flat
* Katie Feeley (Santa Barbara, Calif.) - Int. Fences
* Dawn Crawford (Oak Hills, Calif.) - Open Fences/Open Flat
* Jessica Frazier (Lovelock, Nev.) - Reining/Open Stock Seat
* Maja Jordan (Sanger, Calif.) - Adv. Stock Seat
* Katie Wagner (Fullerton, Calif.) Int. Stock Seat
Fresno State Leads in Miller's Cup Team Standings
The Hunter Seat team High Point totals as of Nov. 11 are Fresno State 157, Cal Poly 132,UC Davis 118, Bakersfield 102, UN Reno 84, Stanford 64, Sierra Nevada 64, UC Santa Cruz, and Reedley 0.
Fresno State Leads in American Quarter Horse Team Standings
The Western Team High Point totals as of Nov. 11 are Fresno State 96, , UC Davis 84, Bakersfield College 70, Cal Poly 52, UN Reno 29, Sanford 29, Reedley 26, Sierra Nevada 12 and Santa Cruz 0.
Howard Nominated for All-USA College Academic Team
Senior English rider Ashley Howard (Visalia, Calif.) was the only equestrian rider nominated for the award. Howard competed in the 2001 Regionals held at Fresno State. She is a 2001 Fresno State Scholar-Athlete and volunteers at the Marjaree Mason Center and at Valley Teen Ranch.
Equestrian Team Hosted Varsity Show
The team held a varsity English/Western show at the Student Horse Center on Nov 10-11. Bakersfield, Cal Poly, Stanford, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, Nevada and Fresno State all participated in the show.
English Ties for First with Cal Poly
The English team tied with Cal Poly with 27 points on Saturday, Nov. 10 and leads the Miller's Cup with 157 points. The Bulldogs are 25 points ahead of Cal Poly who is in second place with 132 points. The Reserve champion was Nevada with 26 points. Bulldog Michaela Mathis (Lemoore, Calif.) was the high point rider with 14 points.
Western Garners Reserve Champion
The Western team finished second with 15 points on Sunday, Nov. 11. UC Davis won the show with 16 points. The team leads the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Team with 96 points. UC Davis follows behind with 84 points.
