Carr Finishes Fifth in Heisman Voting

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State senior quarterback finished in fifth place in voting for the Heisman Trophy. The award was won by Nebraska quarterback Eric Crouch.
Carr received 280 votes -- 34 first place, 60 second place and 58 third place. He finished just 84 votes behind Oregon quarterback Joey Harrington.
The Johnny Unitas Award winner as the nation's top senior quarterback, Carr led the country in passing yards (4,308) and touchdowns (42) and showed his importance to the Bulldogs by placing No. 1 in the NCAA in points per game responsible for (22.0). He became just the sixth quarterback in college football history to throw for 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns.
Carr also led Fresno State to an 11-2 record and a No. 19 ranking by Associated Press. The senior has one more game left in his FS career, that being the Silicon Valley Football Classic on Dec. 31 against Michigan State.
