#7 Softball Gets Shutout Win Over Southern Utah

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 7 Fresno State picked up a 1-0 shutout win over Southern Utah in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader.
The Bulldogs got all the support they needed from freshman pitcher Lori Hoffman. In her fourth collegiate start, Hoffman notched her second shutout as well as knocking in the lone run with a RBI double in the third.
With two outs, Tiffany Whipple lined a single into right field. Hoffman then followed with a RBI double to left center to score Whipple.
In the circle, Hoffman walked one and struck out five Thunderbirds while tossing a three-hitter.
