Two batters later Mike Gillies grounded into a double play to score Maguire from third giving Nevada a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the first, the Bulldogs responded with a run of their own when Brandon Gemoll singled up the middle to score Joey Myers cutting the lead to 2-1.

Fresno State scored two runs in the bottom of the third when to cut the Nevada lead to three runs. Brad Harper singled to center field to score Josh Labandeira for the Bulldogs first run of the inning they added their second when Ben Fritz hit a shot to the short stop that he could not handle to score McGehee trimming the Wolf Pack lead to 6-3.
The Wolf Pack chalked up another run in the top of the fourth when Hass hit a solo home run. The Bulldogs continued to battle back in the bottom of the fourth. Oscar Lopez hit a fielder choice to the first baseman with runners on first and second and the Nevada first baseman bounced the throw to the second baseman off the head of Myers that advanced Myers to third and scored Guzman who had previously been on second base. The following batter Labandeira hit into a double play to score Myers from third decreasing the deficit to 7-5.
In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded JaRell McIntyre hit a grounder to the Bulldog short stop Labandeira that he threw home to stop the runner from scoring, but Brad Harper could not handle it, so Maguire scored for Nevada and the bases were loaded. The following batter Dickerson singled down the right field line to score two more runs for the Wolf Pack giving them a 10-5 lead.
Once again, the Bulldogs tried to rally in the bottom of the ninth when Labandeira doubled to score Oscar Lopez and Myers.
