Equestrian Grabs Reserve Champion Title

FRESNO, Calif.- After the last day of showing, the 'Dogs took home the title of Reserve Champion this weekend at the first Western show of the season, hosted by Bakersfield College. The squad pulled in 22 points, just 6 under the championship holder, UC Davis.
In the Reining Horsemanship, Jennifer Levenfeld finished in fourth, while Taylor Mason finished in seventh. In the Open Rail Horsemanship, Jessica Frazier placed in fourth and Christy Webb placed in fifth. In Advanced Horsemanship II, Beth Knapp grabbed third and Katie Geyer took fifth. In the Advanced Horsemanship I, Maja Jordan captured first, Katie Wagner finished in second and Shawna Erickson placed in sixth. In the Intermediate Horsemanship II, Elisha McArthur finished in fifth in Section A, which pushed her to become a qualifier for Regional Finals. Amy Reed captured first in Section B, which helped her to qualify, Kristi Rogers finished in second, which also helped her to qualify, and Nikole Bingaman placed in fifth. In Section C, Andrea Crisp finished in fourth and Erin Lange finished in fifth. In the Intermediate Horsemanship I, Lori McPeters captured first in Section A and Jessica Miller finished in third. In Section B Amy Wright finished in fifth. In the Beginning Horsemanship Walk/Trot, Becky Warmerdam grabbed first while Nicole Rogers finished in third.
The Equestrian team's next action will be Sat., Dec. 7 at 8 a.m. at the Fresno State Student Horse Center.
