Bulldogs Depart for Silicon Valley Football Classic

FRESNO, Calif. -- - Fresno State's football team enters its final few days of preparation for the Silicon Valley Football Classic. The Bulldogs will take on Georgia Tech in the bowl game on Dec. 31.

Fresno State is making is fourth straight bowl appearance, the longest run in school history. The Yellow Jackets are making their sixth straight bowl appearance.
"We are entering this game with a serious mindset," said head coach Pat Hill. "But at the same time, bowl games are a great reward for players, coaches and fans. We want the players to enjoy their experience of going to a bowl game. There's nothing like the bowl atmosphere. It's the only time when the teams get to interact with one another and the fans, like our great Red Wave, plus bands and the cheerleaders make for a great overall experience."
The Bulldogs, who practiced in Fresno on Friday morning, before departing for San Jose, Calif., where they will meet the Yellow Jackets at a Comedy Club for evening entertainment.
On Saturday, the two teams will travel to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and Beach. On Sunday, the both teams will have dinner at Dave and Buster's in Milpitas, Calif. After that, the teams will begin their final preparations for the game.
Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. Dec. 31.
