No. 13 Softball Drops Finale to Hawai'i

HONOLULU - No. 13 Fresno State softball dropped the fourth game of the Western Athletic Conference series to Hawai'i as the Bulldogs fell, 5-1.
Winning three of four from the Rainbow Wahine, Fresno State enters this upcoming week with a two-game lead over UH in the WAC standings.
The Bulldogs were held to just two hits and is now 41-14 overall and 12-2 in the WAC while Hawai'i had eight hits and improved to 30-20 overall and 11-5 in WAC.
For just the second time this season Fresno State lost a game in which it scored first.
The Bulldogs collected a two-out RBI walk from freshman right fielder Jamie Southern in the top of the third for the 'Dogs only run.
Hawai'i answered back with the equalizer in the fourth before tacking on four in the sixth.
In the fourth with one out, Stacey Hirano doubled to left center and eventually scored on a two-out infield bunt by Denise Dahlberg.
In the sixth, Hawai'i scored four runs on five hits, which included a two-run home run by Stacey Porter and a two RBI double by Dahlberg.
Junior right-hander Leslie Poole suffered the loss and fell to 12-4 on the year. UH's Shannon Taboin improved to 4-3 overall.
With its 13-game win streak coming to a halt, Fresno State will look to get back on the winning track again when the Bulldogs visit Louisiana Tech (April 25) and Tulsa (April 27) this upcoming week.
Fresno State, which went 5-1 on the road this past week, wraps up its two week road swing next week before closing out the month of April at home.
