NOTES: The Bulldogs, who are 15-5 in regional openers, are making their 21st consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. Fresno State softball remains the only program in the country to have qualified for each of the 21 NCAA Division I Softball Championships. In addition, Fresno State also is making its 25th straight postseason appearance overall since the program became a varsity sport in 1978.
Senior third baseman Lindsay Fossatti will lead the Bulldogs charge into NCAA Regional action this week at Bulldog Diamond, May 16-19. Tournament passes go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, May 15, 9:00 a.m. at the Bulldog Ticket Office. With 12 NCAA Regional championships under its belt, Fresno State owns a 71-41 (.633) record in NCAA Tournament play. In NCAA Regional action, the 'Dogs are 41-18 (.695). In the WCWS, Fresno State is 30-23 (.567) with a national title (1998), four runner-up trophies (1982, 1988, 1989, 1990), three third-place finishes (1991, 1992, 1997) and three fifth-place showings (1987, 1994, 1999).
