"We went according to game plan today. We wanted to keep it close and give ourselves an opportunity to win from the fifth inning on. I am proud of this team. This was an excellent game for us.
I thought we were the better team thru the first five innings of the game. We were deeper in the lineup and we matched them with four hits today.
(Freshman pitcher) Katie Markle did a good job keeping the Fullerton batters off-balance and mixing speeds.
I think we helped boost the fact that this is the toughest regional in the country. I think it says a lot about our program that we gave Fullerton all they could handle and I am very proud of that."

"The sixth inning was very important. I told the girls in the huddle that we needed to hold them right here because we only had one at-bat left.
"Coming into today I had nothing to lose. I just wanted to put the team in a position to win."

"We are excited to have the first one under our belt. (Junior pitcher) Jodie (Cox) gave us every opportunity to win. We played flawless defense and scored a couple of wins.
We came into this tournament well prepared knowing what we want to achieve.
