Football Survives 23-20 Against UTEP

EL PASO, Texas (AP) -Paul Pinegar threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns and Brett Visintainer kicked a fourth-quarter field goal as Fresno State came back to beat Texas-El Paso 23-20 Saturday.
Fresno State (8-5, 6-2 WAC) trailed 20-10 but tied the score midway through the third quarter on Pinegar's 37-yard touchdown pass to Marque Davis.
Visintainer hit a 24-yard field goal with 9:37 left, and neither team threatened to score for the rest of the game.
Pinegar was 22-of-31 with two interceptions, and Davis caught six passes for 121 yards and a touchdown. Dwayne Wright led the Bulldogs with 97 yards rushing on 13 carries.
UTEP (2-11, 1-7) went up 20-10 when Orlando Cruz hit Joe West with a 14-yard touchdown pass midway though the second quarter. Cruz finished 13-of-26 for 124 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Fresno State gained 493 yards of offense, while UTEP had 252.
