Kara June Posts Career-Best Time In 3000-M Steeplechase

WALNUT, Calif.- Junior Kara June (Santa Maria, Calif.) notched a career-best 10:25.47 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Invitational on Thursday night at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays.
June's mark placed her sixth overall in the event among a field of 15 competitors. That mark was her highest of the season, besting a 10:32.96 showing at the Cal Poly Invitational on Mar. 22. Junior Joe Vasquez (Selma, Calif.) was the only other Bulldog athlete to compete on Thursday.
Vasquez tossed a 137-04 (41.85m) in the discus throw, checking in at 17th in the event.
The Relays resume Friday morning.
