Bulldogs post strong performances in Bay Area meets

STANFORD, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field team competed at the Stanford Invitational on Friday.
Nayla Martin had a personal-best time in the women's 1500 race, clocking a time of 4:28.41 in her race on Friday. She moved into fifth all-time in her first outdoor 1500m race as a Bulldog. Martin ran the fastest race by a Bulldog in the event since 2019.
In the field events, Matilde Guarino took second in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 5.94m (19-6). It was her furthest jump since the 2024 Mountain West Championship.
Zoe Yeast saw another Top 3 performance, taking second with a personal-best throw of 61.02m/200-2 in the hammer throw. She jumped up a spot on the program's top 10 marks to No. 8. Tearra Haney also competed in the hammer throw and landed fifth with a throw of 54.27m/178-0.
Liz Tarczy picked up her second high jump victory of the season. She cleared 1.78m/5-10 for the win.
On the men's side, Jabari King finished fourth in the long jump. He hit the mark of 7.30m/23-11.5 on his sixth and final attempt.
SAN FRANCISCO - Across the Bay, another group of Bulldog distance runners were in action at the Mike Fanelli Classic.
In the men's 1500, Enrique Loredo and Elijah Williams each set personal-bests. Loredo won his section in a time of 3:57.35 while Williams followed just behind with a time of 3:58.68.
Chiara Pedol clocked a time of 4:35.53 in the women's 1500.
In the women's 3000 steeplechase, Kylie Ward set a new personal-best and moved to fifth all-time with a time of 10:58.62 on Friday, winning her section.
