Bulldog indoor team makes the move to MPSF

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State indoor track and field team accepted its invitation to join the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the conference office announced on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will begin competition in the league in the upcoming 2026-27 season.

Fresno State and Texas State make up Wednesday's announcement, but join an already established league of indoor track and field. The league boasts 21 women's teams heading into the upcoming competition year.

"The addition of these exceptional programs reflects the strength and momentum of MPSF Indoor Track & Field," said MPSF Commissioner Foti Mellis. "Our member institutions are committed to providing an outstanding championship experience, and we are excited to welcome both longtime conference partners and first-time participants as we build the future of MPSF Indoor Track & Field together. We look forward to an outstanding championship in Spokane."

The Bulldog track and field team joins the MPSF for the first time, and becomes the third Fresno State program to compete in the league all-time (women's lacrosse, men's soccer). Fresno State's cross country and outdoor track & field teams will still compete in the Pac-12.

The Bulldogs return a pair of indoor conference champions in high jumper Liz Tarczy and pentathlon champion Ella Spaulding as the Bulldogs enter into this new era.

"We are excited for our indoor team to join the MPSF and have the chance to continue to compete at a high level against some new and familiar opponents," said head coach Jason Drake.

The MPSF Indoor Track & Field Championship will be held in Spokane, Washington on February 26-27. The full indoor schedule will be announced at a later date.
