FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State moved up to 20th in the latest edition of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's team rankings, released Monday.
The Bulldogs (16-7) are riding a nine-match winning streak and last weekend claimed the WAC title by defeating No. 47 Tulsa in the conference tournament's championship match.
The ranking of No. 20 is the highest the team has been since the beginning of March, when Fresno State rose to a season-high 18th.
In singles, Chloe Carlotti moved up one spot to eighth. The sophomore enters the NCAA's with a 28-7 (19-2 dual) singles record, including victories in her last nine matches.
Carlotti was named WAC Player of the Year following the league tournament.
Also ranked in singles is Lucia Tallo, who checked in at No. 107. She has won seven in a row and owns an 18-10 (15-6 dual) record.
Carlotti and Tallo also combine to form the 16th-ranked doubles team in the nation. Like in singles, they are on a roll in doubles, having posted 12 wins in a row and an overall mark of 18-2 (14-1 dual).
Having already earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament by virtue of its league title, Fresno State will gather on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Elbow Room to watch the NCAA Tennis Selection Show.
