Football Tickets Remain For Oregon State Game

FRESNO, Calif. - Nearly 8,000 tickets remain, many in choice locations, for Fresno State's home opener against Oregon State on Friday at 7 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
The Beavers enter this week's contest 1-0 and having been ranked nationally in several preseason polls. They are considered one of the top teams in the Pac-10 Conference and are viewed as one of the few schools who could give league favorite USC a run for its money.
"This is a very, very big game on Friday night against Oregon State," head coach Pat Hill said. "Our entire football team is hoping our fans will be there in full force. The game is on national TV, and it's a chance for our community to show what it's all about. We've got to send a big message as a football team and as a community."
Oregon State and Fresno State have played the last two seasons, and in the process have developed quite a mini-rivalry. In 2001, the Beavers entered Bulldog Stadium riding the wave of being ranked No. 1 in the nation in the preseason college football edition of Sports Illustrated. But Oregon State's dreams of glory came crashing down quickly as Fresno State defeated the Beavers 44-24 in front a then-Bulldog Stadium record 42,410 fans.
With revenge in its sights, Oregon State came out flying against the Bulldogs last year in Corvallis, Ore. After the two teams played close for most of the first half, the Beavers began an offensive onslaught that had a packed-to-the-gills crowd at Reser Stadium on its feet for nearly the entire second half. In the end, Oregon State took out Fresno State 59-19, handing the Bulldogs one of their worst defeats of the Pat Hill Era.
Four season ticket packages, which offer ticket buyers the best value on a season-long basis, remain on sale: A regular season ticket package, two different types of family value packages and student season tickets. A student season ticket package currently costs $65; single-game tickets for the Oregon State game run $45.
