Robnett Drafted In First Round By Oakland A's

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State sophomore outfielder Richie Robnett was the 26th overall pick by the Oakland A's in the first round of Major League Baseball's Amateur Draft Monday.
Robnett is the tenth Bulldog to be selected in the first round and the first since Ben Fritz was taken 30th overall by the A's in the 2002 draft. Robnett is the highest pick by a Bulldog since1998 when the Detroit Tigers drafted Jeff Weaver with the 14th overall selection.
Also selected on the first day of the two-day draft was senior infielder Ryan Haag who was taken by the New York Yankees in the 16th round (489 overall).
