- When Utah State scored on its opening possession for a 7-0 lead, it marked only the second time this year that Fresno State's opponent scored as a result of a turnover. The other instance occurred in the Bulldog's 37-34 loss at Oregon.
- Tonight's game was Fresno State's first sellout of the season (42,701) and first since the Bulldog's 27-17 victory over Portland State (42,662) on Sept. 19, 2004. The crowd was the second-highest in school history, with the school record for largest crowd standing at 42,881 (matched five times in 2001). Tonight's crowd was also the largest since 42,881 attended Fresno State's 70-21 rout of Utah State on Dec. 1, 2001.
- Louis Leonard's fumble recovery in the first quarter was the first of his career.
- Roshon Vercher's touchdown run in the first quarter was his first score since Nov. 20, 2004 vs. Nevada- also a one-yard touchdown run.
- Fresno State did not punt at all in tonight's game, representing the first time that has happened since a 63-12 victory over San Jose State back on Nov. 20, 1999.
- Fresno State converted 10 of 15 third down attempts, while Utah State was successful on 3 of 10 chances.
- Richard Marshall registered his eighth career interception in the first quarter and needs one more to crack Fresno State's top-10 career list.
- Fresno State responded with 46 unanswered points after Utah State opened the game with a 7-0 lead.
- Joe Fernandez caught a pass for the 18th consecutive game and 21 out of his last 22 overall. For his career, he has caught a pass in 25 of 31 games.
- Fresno State has outscored its opponents 65-14 in the first quarter of games this year.
- Fresno State has only allowed three punt return yards the entire season.
- When Paul Pinegar was brought down in the backfield early in the second quarter, it snapped a streak of 50 consecutive passing attempts without a sack.

- Fresno State upped its lead to 32-7 with 8:18 remaining in the third quarter thanks to its first safety since Oct. 4, 2002 against Colorado State.
- Charles Tolbert recorded his first career sack near the end of the third quarter.
