- Tonight's game marked the second time in school history that Fresno State has faced off against the nation's No. 1 team. The Bulldogs played at No. 1 Oklahoma on Sept. 13, 2003, a game the Sooners won 55-28.
- The Bulldogs have won three of their last five games against teams from the Pac-10 and since 1980 own a record of 18-18 against Pac-10 schools.
- Fresno State was making its first-ever appearance at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (capacity- 92,000), representing just the third time in school history the `Dogs have played in front of a crowd of over 90,000. Tonight also was the third-largest crowd to witness a Fresno State football game.
- When Fresno State jumped ahead 7-0 early in the first quarter, it signaled the first time USC had trailed in a game at home this year.
- Roshon Vercher's second carry of the season resulted in a first down with just under five minutes remaining in the first quarter.
- On the last play of the first quarter, Fresno State was facing fourth-and-1 on its own 44-yard line. The Bulldogs faked a punt attempt as Josh Sherley rushed for a two-yard gain, marking the first time this year the Bulldogs have faked a punt or field goal.
- Of Roshon Vercher's 19 career touches (rushes or receptions), six have resulted in touchdowns.
- Fresno State's two losses on the year (No. 10 Oregon, No. 1 USC) have been by a combined 11 points.
- Fresno State registered two sacks on the evening, bringing its overall season total to 29.
- Adam Jennings is the only player in the nation to be ranked in the NCAA top-10 in both kickoff returns and punt returns.
- In the first half alone, Paul Pinegar completed 17 of 22 pass attempts for 203 yards and two touchdowns.
- Tonight marked only the third time USC has trailed at the half this year.
- Reggie Bush's 16-yard return on a Fresno State punt to open the third quarter was the longest the Bulldogs have allowed all season.
- Five different Fresno State players (Joe Fernandez, Devyn McDonald, Paul Williams, Wendell Mathis, Matt Rivera) caught at least four passes in the game.
- Fresno State was 3-3 on fourth-down conversions.
- Entering tonight's contest, Fresno State had outscored its opponents 90-20 in the third quarter of games. On Saturday night, the Bulldogs were outscored 28-7 by the Trojans in the third quarter.
- Tonight marked the third straight game Paul Williams has caught a touchdown pass.
- USC's 50 points are the most that Fresno State has allowed all season.
- Fresno State was penalized eight times for 73 yards while USC committed four penalties for 56 yards.
- Devyn McDonald established a career-high for receptions in a game with five.
- Paul Pinegar threw four touchdown passes, a season-high total.
- Fresno State's 42 points were the most that USC has allowed during its 33-game winning streak.
- The fourth-quarter fumble recovery from Jason Huss was the first of his career.
- Fresno State's 42 points are the most allowed by a Pete Carroll-coached team at USC.
