WAC Title On The Line As Bulldogs Slug It Out
Nov. 30, 2005
FRESNO, Calif.- A number of promotions are scheduled for Fan Appreciation Night at Bulldog Stadium on Friday, as No. 22 Fresno State looks to capture the WAC title when it battles Louisiana Tech in a nationally-televised game on ESPN2.
The festivities get underway on Thursday, Dec. 1, with the final Quarterback Club luncheon taking place at 11:45 a.m. at Pardini's Restaurant (2257 W. Shaw Ave.). The luncheon is open to the public and featured guests include defensive coordinator Dan Brown, senior Raymond Washington and former head coach Jim Sweeney. Fresno State's annual senior tackle drill is slated for 7 p.m. in Bulldog Stadium. This traditional ceremony signifies the final practice session as each senior runs through a gauntlet of the team to hit a tackling dummy. The event is open to the public.
Fresno State will honor its senior class prior to the 6 p.m. kick-off on Friday. The contest marks the final regular season game at Bulldog Stadium for 16 Fresno State seniors, who have currently won three consecutive bowl games.
Other promotions scheduled for Friday night's game include the following:
- Men's/Women's Basketball Ticket Offer: Fans can redeem their football ticket stub for one complimentary admission to a men's or women's basketball December home game. Tickets must be redeemed at Save Mart Center on day of game only (while supplies last). All seat selections will be upper bowl seats. Tickets are subject to availability at time of redemption. One complimentary basketball ticket per Louisiana Tech game per person.
- Table Mountain Cash Giveaway: Table Mountain Rancheria will be giving away cash to pre-selected random seats (10 seats per quarter at $100 apiece) in the stadium at the conclusion of each quarter.
- Table Mountain Field Goal Kick Promotion: Sponsored by Table Mountain Rancheria, five randomly selected fans will have the opportunity to make a 40-yard field goal for $5,000.
- Wienerschnitzel Opponent Scoreless Promotion: If the Bulldogs hold Louisiana Tech scoreless in the first half, section 23 and the majority of section 24 will win a free chili dog from Wienerschnitzel.
Fresno State enters the regular season finale at 8-3 overall and 6-1 in the WAC. The Bulldogs have accepted an invitation to play in the 47th annual AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Dec. 31 at 10 a.m. PST. The game will be shown live on ESPN.
