Fresno, Calif. - Fresno State's Director of Athletics Thomas Boeh announced some new assignments for existing department employees, including major changes in the softball and athletic training areas.
Jan Winslow, who has served as assistant media relations director at Fresno State for over a decade, has been hired as assistant softball coach.
Winslow replaces Laura Berg, who left her position to participate on United States national softball team. Winslow served as the media relations contact for volleyball, men's basketball and softball during her time as assistant director. A search to find an assistant media relations director is underway.
In other department transactions, with the departure of Head Athletics Trainer Miguel Rueda to the University of Colorado, Boeh has appointed Kelli Eberlein as Interim Head Trainer. Leila Almahdy will serve as the football athletics trainer for the 2006 season. The search for a head athletics trainer will be conducted in the spring.
Eberlein is in her fourth year at Fresno State. In addition to serving as the interim head trainer, she will continue to serve as the women's basketball athletics trainer.
Almahdy is in her fifth year at her alma mater and spent times on the athletics training staffs at Oregon State and USC.
