| Senior Chantella Perera has been named the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 5. This is the second time this year that she has been honored with this award. Perera, a shooting guard from Watirna, Australia, led the Bulldogs in scoring against Cal State Fullerton with 14 points and then had an outstanding night as the Bulldogs defeated their second ranked opponent of the year, defeating No. 23 Texas Tech last Friday. In that contest, Perera scored 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. In addition she added six assists and played all 40 minutes of the game as the Bulldogs upset the Lady Raiders in the Save Mart Center. Perera also won the award during the first week of the regular season. She is the only women's basketball player to earn the honor this year. Also nominated this week were: Alan Goodwin (football); Hector Hernandez (Men's Basketball).
