FRESNO, Calif.- Junior Ryan Moore (Visalia, Calif.) has been named the Xbox Live WAC Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for Apr. 4.
Moore grabbed Fresno State's only first-place finish on the men's side last weekend at the Cal-Nevada Championships. On the cusp of qualifying for NCAA Regionals all season, Moore finally broke through when he ran a season-best 51.85 to win the title in the 400-meter hurdles. That time is the best in the WAC this year.
Moore qualified for NCAA Regionals in each of his first two seasons and his career-best in the 400-meter hurdles stands at 51.30, which he established in 2005.
Coming off strong finishes at the Cal-Nevada Championships, Fresno State is poised for another strong showing this weekend. Next up for the Bulldogs is an appearance at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational, which takes place Apr. 6-8 and is hosted by UCLA.
