Championship Quotes
No. 3 Hawai'i 1, No. 4 Nevada 0 (Game 9)
No. 4 Nevada 4, No. 3 Hawai'i 2 (Game 10)
No. 4 Nevada 7, No. 3 Hawai'i 0 (Game 11)
Hawai'i Head Coach Bob Coolen on today's game:
"The girls played really well today, but we just ran out of steam. We didn't have enough bodies to finish the tournament. Basically, we were juggling through our lineup because we were down four girls. We just couldn't finish it out; one game away. We've been there before, but our girls played well. Today was a big learning experience for us."
Nevada Head Coach Michelle Gardner on Jordan McPherson throwing 523 pitches during the WAC Tournament:
"I think her arm is rubber by now. I bet her arm feels like she's thrown 6000 pitches. The bottom line is that if we didn't win this game today, we're done; our season is done. And Jordan just stepped up and did absolutely everything she needed to do to make sure her team won."
Nevada Head Coach Michelle Gardner on the Wolf Pack's first trip to the NCAA Tournament:
"I came to Nevada four years ago for a reason. I wanted to build this program; not only did I want to build it. I wanted it to become a program like Fresno State. It's absolutely awesome that this is the opportunity that we have in front of us. I'm really excited. I just want us to come out and play well and do the things that we need to do."
Sophomore pitcher Jordan McPherson on pitching 6 straight WAC Tournament games:
"I'm still ready to go. The arm feels a little rubbery, but what are you gonna do? You just have to do what you need to do to make sure your team wins, and I'm ready to do whatever I need to do to make sure that happens."
